Some Thai people still look down on this kind of music. This song is inspired by a story that happened to me a few years back in Bangkok. We were soundcheking Isan instruments in a big shopping center when suddenly someone told us to change the style of music we were playing and bring down the volume of the speakers. He also said that our music did not suit that place. So I wrote the song to explain that Morlam culture has a much longer history than their big flashy building and they should be able to appreciate their own culture.
