Lamduan was the saddest woman in the world. She suffered greatly for the man she loved, who would bring other women to her family home as her and her children slept. Sometime she has to go with her husband as he asked other women to marry. She suffered until she took her own life in desperation at the age of 42. When I was a young girl I could only spend a few years with my grandmother, Lamduan. The song is not only a personal story, but also describes the life of he men and women of Isan at those times.
